Labor & Delivery
Having a baby is one of the most rewarding times in
a women's life. There is so much to think about and
so many important decisions to make. Is it a boy or
will it be a girl? What name should I use? How will
I decorate the baby's room? Where you choose to have
your baby should be easy.
The Women's and Children's Center
at Danville Regional Medical Center provides you with
a comfortable, family-friendly homelike experience.
The seven labor/delivery/recovery rooms are specially
designed so that you labor, deliver, and recover in
the convenience of one room. The rooms are beautifully
decorated in soft colors, with carpeted or wood grain
floors, a TV/VCR hidden in an armoire, Jacuzzi(r) whirlpool
tubs, upholstered loungers, and special bed linens make
the labor and delivery room comfortable. For the new
mom and family, its an environment that is both soothing
and relaxing. Infant warmers in each room provide safety
and comfort for the new arrivals.
When delivery is imminent, surgical lights swing down
from the ceiling and wood cabinets housing oxygen and
medical supplies are opened, providing all of the medical
necessities available in the traditional delivery room.
Once the delivery is complete, the medical equipment
is again tucked away.
