Cardiac Rehabilitation
The cardiac rehabilitation program offered by the Heart
Center of the Piedmont at Danville Regional Medical Center
is designed to aid you in your recovery from a cardiac
event such as open heart surgery, angioplasty, heart attack
or angina. It is a continuation of the most comprehensive
cardiac services available to the Dan River Region of
Virginia and North Carolina.
The program promotes a heart healthy lifestyle by incorporating
patient education and exercise conditioning. The goals
of the program are to provide you the knowledge that
you will need to live a heart healthy lifestyle, to
improve your level of independent functioning, and to
improve your quality of life.
Your doctor must refer you to the program and it does
not substitute for your doctor's care, but is supplemental.
You will be given progress reports that will be reviewed
with you and submitted to your doctor. The majority
of the programs cost is covered by most major insurance
companies and Medicare.
