After Treatment
After you have been treated in the emergency department,
the physician will determine the next course of treatment
of going home or being admitted. If you are being discharged,
the physician, physician assistant, or a nurse will go
over written discharge instructions regarding after care
activities.
If you are being admitted to the hospital, the physician
will discuss this with you and make sure that the necessary
arraignments.
Billing for Services
Expenses for most emergency visits are covered by your
health insurance company. We will gladly submit a claim
to your insurance company. Keep in mind, that there
are additional charges for physician's services, x-rays,
lab test, medications, as well as charges for additional
physicians who are asked to consult about your care.
With that in mind, you might get more than one bill
for your visit to the emergency department. The additional
charges may or may not be covered by your insurance
company.
Depending on your health insurance company, you may
have a co-payment and/or or co-insurance that is due
following treatment and discharge.
