Clinical Facilities
All instruction of nursing is the direct responsibility of the School of Health Professions Nursing faculty. Direct patient care clinical experiences are at the Danville Regional Medical Center and Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Community agencies and physicians’ offices are utilized as an integral part of that instruction in the educational program.

Cooperating Agencies
Danville Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established under the state system of community colleges in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is located approximately two miles south of downtown Danville. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Students may take the required college courses at DCC. These college courses are transferable to other colleges. Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, located approximately two miles south of Danville on Taylor Drive, provides facilities for psychiatric experience. It is a 100-bed, acute psychiatric care facility. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and is under the auspices of the Virginia Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
