Message from the President

 The
year 2004 was one of significant progress for Danville
Regional Health System as we made great strides in fulfilling
our mission of providing Healthcare Excellence Close
to Home.
For example, advancements in technology include improved
brachytherapy to treat prostate cancer and our new BRAVO
system for diagnosing gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Planning for significant additions to our Center for
Radiation Oncology also move forward.
The ''closer to home'' element of our mission includes
the opening of Heart Center of the Piedmont satellite
offices at South Boston, Gretna, and Yanceyville, as
well as our new OB satellite clinic in Gretna.
We also added physician specialists in a number of
key practice areas, such as sports medicine, orthopedics,
neurosurgery, family medicine and emergency medicine.
Also with excellent graduating classes from our own
Schools of Nursing and Radiologic Technology, we are
constantly improving our ability to care for our friends
and neighbors in the Dan River Region.
On a personal note, I am extremely honored to serve
as CEO of this outstanding organization. Together with
our medical staff and associates, we look forward to
continuing to meet the healthhcare needs of the Dan
River region.
