A Message from our President
from Better Health magazine,
Summer, 2004
Whether you're a parent of a child who participates
in sports or an athlete in your own right, you'll be
encouraged by the arrival in town of Dr. Jonathan Krome.
His experience in sports medicine complements the expertise
our community already enjoys in orthopedic care. He's
agreed to be team physician for Averett University,
and will be a resource for all the sports programs in
town when joint injuries require a skilled surgical
touch.
Arriving at the hospital at just the right time to
complement Dr. Krome's practice is our new Magnetic
Resonance Imaging scanner. The new MRI is more comfortable
for patients, and is freestanding to relieve complaints
of claustrophobia. With advanced imaging capability,
it will allow our doctors to provide more accurate diagnoses,
leading to greater success in treatments.
The Foundation House, our new resource for out-of-town
families of hospital
patients, opened to the community on August 9th. I hope
you were able to attend the open house and see for yourself
what a comfortable and inviting place this is. Located
on West Main Street adjacent to the hospital, the Foundation
House is a much-needed addition to our community. I
salute the Danville Regional Health Foundation for their
tireless fundraising efforts, and express my gratitude
to all those businesses, organizations, and individuals
whose contributions made this dream a reality.
Sincerely,

Warren E. Callaway, FACHE
President and Chief Executive Officer
Danville Regional Health System
