Heart Center to open new satellite offices, nears 100 open-heart patients.
from Better Health magazine, Fall, 2003
This fall, residents of the Gretna area and South Boston/Halifax County will be one step closer to the most comprehensive heart care under one roof in the Dan River Region.
The Heart Center of the Piedmont at Danville Regional Medical Center is opening offices in these two locations, with regular weekly office hours featuring appointments with a Heart Center cardiologist.
Residents of these and surrounding communities will now be able to have initial diagnostic tests performed by Heart Center specialists. If these tests determine that a catheterization or angioplasty is needed, these procedures would be conveniently performed at the Heart Center of the Piedmont at Danville Regional Medical Center.
The Heart Center has completed more than 270 angioplasties since its inception and nearly 100 open-heart surgery procedures since that program opened in March 2003. A celebration for patients, families, and the community will be held to recognize serving our first 100 patients. We'll be announcing the date and time shortly, so watch your local paper for more details.
