That's what both physicians and coworkers in our Endoscopy department say about Marie Blackstock, our Legend of the Year. That's how much trust she's earned, both from staff and physicians. What else do they say?

"She puts quality and the needs of her patients first."

But it isn't just our staff that loves Marie. Our patients do, too. She makes sure their needs are met, even if it means missing a lunch or break, or staying late. No wonder patients often send her cards and letters of appreciation because of her dedication to their well-being. And no wonder Marie was voted #1 Nurse of the Year in this year's Danville Register and Bee Reader's Choice Awards.

Our staff is full of caring and giving people. But some people always stand out. That's the purpose of the Legend of the Year award, which is presented annually to an associate who exemplifies the concept of sacrifice for both coworkers and patients. Congratulations to Marie for being selected our Legend of the Year 2002.
