The Children's Medical Security Insurance Plan covers uninsured children from birth to age 19 in working families with incomes between 150% and 185% of the federal poverty level. Eligible children receive a comprehensive set of medical and dental benefits
We recognize that healthcare providers can play a role in helping to identify children who may benefit from the plan," said Brad Sexauer, Vice President of Planning and Marketing
for Danville Regional Health System. "By educating healthcare providers, we hope they will let parents know about the program and be able to answer their questions."
Danville Regional Health System is working with the Action Alliance for Virginia's Children and Youth and sponsored an educational session for healthcare providers on Thursday, September 16, 1999. In was an all- day session, where providers learned how to influence parents to enroll their eligible children and were taught the mechanics of the enrollment process.
"We want to take a leadership role in making this program work for children whose parents can't afford the health care they need," said Sexauer. "There is money available to take care of uninsured children and it is one of Danville Regional Health System's top priorities to ensure they aren't being left out."
