As Danville Regional Health Foundation grows, it continues to make a significant impact in providing a healthier future for the people of Danville and the surrounding area. During the first half of this year, the Foundation has granted $225,440 to help organizations make a difference in the health of the community. Fifteen organizations received funds, including:
Danville/Pittsylvania County Fire and Rescue: to provide Hepatitis B immunizations and tuberculosis monitoring
Healthier Piedmont People: to assist the community wellness program, adolescent health, the healthcare directory and health needs assessment
Project Access: to provide primary and specialty physician access, including hospital services and prescription medications, for the uninsured
Boys and Girls Club: to provide a nurse to meet club member's health needs
Western Virginia Regional EMS: to purchase new drug boxes and medications for ambulances in the region
Virginia Health Care Foundation: to enhance the health of the elderly through SeniorNavigator.com, which provides information about local services for aging adults and their caregivers
The Nurse Line: To continue the toll-free phone line that provides immediate access to a Registered Nurse
