Without question, this is a very difficult time for the healthcare industry. From the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, which drastically reduced Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements, to ever-increasing managed care discounts, it has become more and more difficult for healthcare organizations such as ours to obtain the revenues they need to survive.
 Yet even with these difficulties, Danville Regional Health System has managed to grow in its size and scope of healthcare services in order to better serve our community. Thanks to strong leadership from the health system's administration, we have continued to improve not only our facilities, but also the quality of our staff and the level of service that they provide to the community. Many achievements were made over the last two years, and you can find them detailed throughout this website. I encourage you to read it carefully and reflect upon the progress that has been made at Danville Regional Health System - not just in the last two years - but also over the last decade. I also encourage you to take some time and look over the financial information pages as we post them. From new equipment and renovations to charity care and community education, the health system spends millions of dollars each year to help improve the health status of our region.
