You May Qualify for
Reduced Cost Prescriptions
from Better Health magazine, Summer, 2002

prescription costs can be very highPrescription drugs can be expensive, but if you are on Medicare and your doctor has prescribed one of the medications from manufacturers listed below and you meet income guidelines, you may qualify for reduced-cost prescriptions.

"Many pharmaceutical companies are now offering discount cards for those whose incomes qualify," says Larry Mullins, manager of outpatient pharmacy services. "At Danville Regional, our outpatient pharmacy accepts all of these discount programs for the convenience of our customers."

The outpatient pharmacy is licensed to sell to the public, explains Mullins. It is conveniently located near the main hospital entrance, directly behind the main lobby. Free parking is available in the outpatient visitor's lot.

The hospital also sponsors two prescription assistance programs: one for Advantage Plus members and a Medication Assistance Program for those whose incomes fall within federal poverty income plus 10 percent. Advantage Plus is a program for seniors over 55, and for a one-time fee, members can purchase their medication for slightly over wholesale cost. For addition details on this program, call 799-WELL or (8977) 799-WELL.
